Xolile Sibiya’s love has always been in the Creative Arts. After completing high school, her great talent and passion for the Arts landed her at the University of KwaZulu Natal, where she enrolled to study Visual Arts. Through her exposure within this space, she grew a love for story-telling through creative expression using paintings, drawings and creative writing. She then ventured to study Media Studies. In 2017 she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Media and Cultural Studies.
Following her passion for story-telling through creative writing, in 2018 she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Honour’s degree in Media and Cultural Studies, with majors in Journalism and Corporate Communication. Her qualifications in Media and Cultural Studies have not only exposed her to greater knowledge in Corporate Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing and Advertising, but have also shown her how much she loves working with people and being in a creative space.
Working for SAASTA as a science journalist, with uMgungundlovu Community Radio, has expanded her knowledge in science, technology and innovation, and she is glad of the role she has to play in her community, in addressing and attending to social issues around science, technology and innovation.
